Muhammad Irsyad Abu Tariq is a business and tax consultant with extensive experience in Malaysian tax law, revenue administration, and regulatory compliance.
With a career spanning both the public and private sectors, Irsyad has extensive experience in tax litigation, tax advisory, legislative drafting, tax policy, and revenue enforcement. During his tenure with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN), he was involved in tax disputes before the Special Commissioners of Income Tax (SCIT), legislative and policy development, as well as criminal tax investigations and prosecutions involving the Income Tax Act 1967 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA).
Today, Irsyad advises business owners, high-net-worth individuals, family-owned businesses, and corporations on tax planning, tax risk management, corporate restructuring, regulatory compliance, and strategic business matters. His practical understanding of Malaysia’s tax framework enables him to provide commercially focused solutions to complex business challenges.
Irsyad is the co-author of Taxation and Ethics in Malaysia, published by Wolters Kluwer, and is also a contributing author for CCH Connect, where he writes on taxation, revenue law, and regulatory developments.
